LSD The Noa Chlorine Osseus (epoxy) Surfboard

Created for the annualStab HighWaco air comps, this model is a variation on the standardNoa Model.

Never one to over-complicate things, Noa’s original brief was brief…

“Maybe a 510 and a 511, that will do.”

We got to work tweaking his base model with a few things in mind; he’d need to gain speed quickly, then keep that momentum before being able to launch off the end section as high as possible into a stable landing.

We condensed Noas day to day 60 down to a 510 adding 1/4 of width, as well as pushing out the nose and tail area to keep the outline drivey when put on a rail.

A lower nose entry rocker allows for rapid speed on take-off, and has just enough tail rocker to give pop and release.

We pumped in some extra thickness at the chest area, keeping the deck fairly rolled to avoid a chunky rail.

About ‘Osseus’ Tech from LSD:

The Osseus construction was developed to withstand some serious abuse. It has been specially designed to handle thick slabs or big punts without losing versatility or performance.

The high quality EPS blank is closed cell with a traditional laminated timber stringer for both board feel and durability. We added a 65mm band of Innegra that is set into the bottom running parallel along the stringer creating a sprung reinforcement. Innegra has great torsional strength and dampening properties that help to tame the jumpiness of the EPS foam. We have also designed custom stomp pads using Innegra with carbon in key compression zones for added durability.

The board is then laminated with 4 oz fibreglass using epoxy resin with an additional biaxial fibreglass inlay on the deck, again increasing compression and tension strength.

The LSD team has been blown away by the boards durability, performance and feel in the water.
