The Test Tube is a Deluxe Version of our top-selling Softlite Chop Stick series.It uses the same mould as the Chop Stick (Mini Mal Template), so is essentially quite similar, just with a couple of extra features squeezed in.

For the beginner riders, these boardspaddle fast and are extremely stable making them ideal for learning on.

In saying that though, the boards are very versatile, and even a great addition to the quiver for the more experienced surfers. They are a great way to increase your wave count on the smaller days, and the bigger boards are big enough for traditional longboard style surfing and allow moves such as noserideing etc. If finless is your thing, the Test Tube is definitely the board of choice amongst our team riders, in particularly due to the Rolled Parabolic Rails feature.

Compared to the Chop Stick model, the Test Tube has the following additional features:

ROLLED PARABOLIC PE RAILS:This was originally designed for our shorter, performance boards, but we’ve found it to make the bigger boards a bit more user friendly to ride also.Each board contains 4 crosslink rails. These rails are then hand shaped, allowing softer rails near the nose tapering down to a sharp, harder edged rail at the tail. Similar to regular fibreglass surfboards, it allows if to be forgiving and not catch rails up front, but gives it a bit more bite making it easier to turn off the tail. Similarly, to a stringer it also provides extra stiffness in the board, and generally helps to increase the durability of the board.

MESH INFUSED SLICKS:This is technology derived from bodyboarding, who lead the way in using EPS / HDPE Slick combinations. The Reinforced mesh is infused into the Dura HD Slick. This provides a frame of strength, which not only improves stiffness but also recoil, so making it easier to pump from rail to rail with the right amount of tension.
